Nach zwei Jahren kommt „Move!“ endlich wieder ans MiR. Gemeinsam mit Profis entwickeln Schüler*innen über eine Spielzeit lang ihr eigenes Tanzstück. In Trainings an den Schulen sowie in der MiR-eigenen Tanz-AG werden Erfahrungen ausgetauscht und Schritte geübt, während am Theater Handlungselemente, Klänge und eine Bühnenoptik entstehen. Und am Ende läuft alles in intensiven Proben auf der Großen Bühne zusammen ... „Move!“ ermöglicht Schüler*innen, ihre körperliche und künstlerische Kreativität zu entwickeln. Aber auch für die Tänzer*innen bildet das Projekt einen Schwerpunkt, um junge Menschen für Tanz zu begeistern.

Das diesjährige Stück verbindet gleich mehrere Welten aus dem Leben von Jugendlichen: ihren nicht immer leichten Alltag und das faszinierende Reich der Videospiele. Unter dem Titel „Next Level“ inspirieren sich beide Welten gegenseitig. Denn seit ihrer Erfindung haben Computerspiele die Theaterkunst beeinflusst, und Schillers Erkenntnis „Der Mensch ist nur da ganz Mensch, wo er spielt“ wird auch im zeitgenössischen Tanz geschätzt. Wir begegnen Avataren, sportlichen Wettkämpfen, gefährlichen Monstern und den Tücken der Programmierkunst. Farbenfroh und actionreich bringt „Move!“ jede Menge Bewegung ins Spiel und ist damit genau das Gegenteil vom passiven Sitzen vor dem Bildschirm. Wer kommt mit uns ins nächste Level?

For those who don’t know, "Move!" It’s the legendary youth dance project at the Musiktheater im Revier. After two years of hardship, it will finally be back live on the big stage in 2022! Together with choreographers, Marika Carena and Taciana Cascelli De Carvalho, students improvise, dance and develop their own dance pieces over the course of a season. In supervised training at the school, they collect ideas, share their experiences as they try out steps and movements. Meanwhile, in the heads of the artistic team, a concept for topics, plot elements and ideas for sounds and stage optics are created. When all the elements finally come together during the rehearsals on the main stage of the MiR, the youth can breathe in performance life for a few weeks.

In 2022, "Move!" will enable five school classes and a dance club to develop their physical and artistic creativity. The students work side by side with professional dancers from the MiR Dance Company. The project is also an important focus for the professionals in getting young people enthusiastic about dance. "Move!" builds on the potential of everyone involved so that the choreography can ultimately shine together.

This year, "Move!" connects several worlds from the lives of young people: the not always easy, everyday life and the fascinating realm of video games. Under the title, "Next Level," both worlds overlay and inspire each other. Since computer games were invented, they have influenced the art of theater, and Schiller's insight that, "man is only fully human where he is playing," is also valued in contemporary dance. We encounter avatars, sporting competitions, dangerous monsters and the pitfalls of the art of programming. Colorful and action-packed, "Move!" brings a lot of movement into play and is therefore exactly the opposite of sitting passively in front of the screen. Who is joining us on the next level?
